Have you ever wondered why The Writing Community Chat Show started? Christopher Aggett & Christopher Hooley were two self-published authors looking for support on their writing journey when the writing community stepped up and helped. The journey of a self-published author is one of solitary and difficulty. The writing community and its members offered help and advice. How could we ever repay that? We knew that the minefield of marketing was a huge hurdle, so, we decided to start a podcast as a platform for these authors to showcase themselves and to offer writing advice and tips to those that tuned in. The show quickly developed into a live streaming YouTube podcast. Amazing support from our first guest, Halo Scott became a tradition. The indie authors we had on the show became friends and supporters. The show quickly gained interest and guests like Sir Ian Rankin, Adele Parks, Noel Clarke, and more, expanded our profile.
3.5 years later, with over 300 live shows, The WCCS is still going strong. We love our fellow writers, we love helping them on their journey, and we love their support. Host Chris Hooley has noted multiple times how he feels there is more value to be taken from our shows than the creative writing masters he underwent. That is some statement. There are so many gems of information from the shows. Every authors Road To Writing brings advice in its own way.
Our show is on Roku TV, is a Spreaker Prime show, and has been voted as one of the best writing podcasts by many blogs, including Jherico Writers. This year, we were moderators for Pan MacMillan at the Harrogate Crime Writers festival. Chris Aggett interviewed Pan Mac authors in the Pan tent there and was successfully invited back for next year. This is the beginning of a professional and exciting relationship between The WCCS and Pan MacMillan. We hope to expand our network moving into 2024.
We would love you to become part of our community. If you already are, please consider bringing fellow authors into the circle.
Remember our motto, The WCCS - TOGETHER AS ONE WE GET IT DONE. The simply means, together, we can build, grow, support and succeed.
