The Writing Community Chat Show Season 15 Premiere: Exclusive Interview with Anna Britton.

We’re excited to announce the return of The Writing Community Chat Show this Friday with an exclusive Substack event featuring a live interview with rising crime author Anna Britton. Paid members are invited to join us as we dive into Anna’s journey, her upcoming release, Close to the Edge: An Unputdownable British Police Procedural Series (Detectives Martin & Stern, 2), and her craft in crime writing. This is a unique opportunity to interact live, ask questions, and be part of a rich discussion around Anna’s career and creative process. The full interview will be available on YouTube for all fans a few weeks later.

About the Author:

Anna Britton made a striking entrance into the crime genre with her debut novel, Shot in the Dark, and has continued to capture readers with her keen psychological insight and intricate plotting. Her work centers on DS Gabe Martin and DI Juliet Stern, two detectives who are not only trying to solve high-stakes crimes but also find themselves entangled in complex, often dangerous, moral dilemmas. In Close to the Edge, the second book in her Detectives Martin & Stern series, readers are once again taken deep into the world of British crime. Released in paperback on September 12, 2024, the book promises a gripping follow-up as Gabe and Juliet are drawn into an intense search for a missing art student and a ruthless gunman who seems to be lurking at every turn.

Outside of writing, Anna is a freelance editor, a mentor to other writers, and the host of The Rejected Writers’ Club, a podcast that brings transparency and humor to the realities of creative rejection. Represented by Saskia Leach at the Kate Nash Literary Agency, Anna lives on the Isle of Wight, where she spends her time walking her beloved Labrador and kayaking. She also shares glimpses of her life and writing on social media as @BrittonBookGeek.

Set for release in paperback in September 2024, this book promises another page-turning experience for her readers. Anna will delve into her writing process, discuss her approach to building suspense, and share how she creates the atmospheric British setting that brings her stories to life.
