200 episodes of The WCCS!
The Writing Community Chat Show started back in March of 2020. For those who can remember, Soul Sin, Chris Hooley, and me, Chris Aggett, started an audio podcast where we talked for hours about books, writing, life, and silly things. That show was raw and often wild! Due to timing commitments and life, 3 quickly became 2. Left Chris and Right Chris were born, the dynamic duo. Then, for the next 11 months, Chris and Chris interviewed authors, screenwriters, YouTubers, and celebrities. The show went through many different looks, and lots of side shows were ambitiously introduced and then ditched. And before it became a slick-looking show with good graphics, we had gone through design after design, platform after platform, and spent many hours researching how to improve. Then, it launched on YouTube. When lockdown kicked in we became a valuable meet-up for authors within the Writing Community and further afield. Twice a week we were putting on shows, sharing stories with the world, and giving indie authors a platform for them to share their voices. Much laughter was had and many beers were drunk. Guests like Ian Rankin, Adele Parks, Tony Kent, Dom Jolly, Noel Clarke, Steve Cavanagh, C.J. Tudor, Will Carver, Samantha Shannon, John Niven, and Mark Billingham have been on the show and loved it! There are so many more! The phrase "Blessed with guests" was born!
Two shows a week was a huge commitment. After a year, and a lot of effort, Chris Hooley had to withdraw to concentrate on life and his education. The show changed from a Wednesday and a Friday to once a week on a Thursday. Chris Aggett had many doubts about the show's ability to survive such a split but decided to push on. Since then, a further 11 months have passed and guests like Max Brooks, Sarah Alderson, Chandler Bolt, Tina Baker, Iszi Lawrence, Belinda Kirk, and many more appear on the show. Many discussion panel shows have been put together with the likes of Aesthetic Press allowing their authors to talk about their life as a signed authors. We have heard so much and learned so much over the past 200 episodes.
The best thing about this show is how every time a new listener, viewer, or social engager finds the show, they become part of our fun and crazy family. There are supporters of the show that I consider good friends and one day I have promised them a huge part if this show "makes it". This show has big plans and one-day dreams could become a reality. It is and always has been focused on helping indie authors. The launch of The Indie Takeover is another step in that direction. With support from the community, this show has more and more potential. If you share a post, tell a friend, leave a review, become a Patreon, or donate via PayPal, you really help this show move forward. Every pound given can help the show buy books from indies, support authors with marketing, or buy essential equipment for the show to move forward. You really do make the difference. I can't thank you enough for your continued support over the past 2 years and not 1 person has made this a negative experience. I have loved chatting with every single guest and the people that support this show. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
And remember the show's motto
THE WCCS, TOGETHER AS ONE, WE GET IT DONE!
"Letters from Italy is an astonishingly beautiful work of art. I encourage everyone to read it. Brimming with romance, comedy, drama, history, and family lines. It's everything." -Jeannie Gaffigan, Writer, Producer, New York Times Bestselling Author
Letters from Italy is a story of true love that spans an ocean. Against all odds, an orphaned girl and a young dreamer find solace in a romance sparked by a single photo and years of transatlantic letters. From a tiny Italian town in pre-WWII to New York City in her golden age, hopeful immigrants take a chance at living the American dream. Set on the Puglian coast, a world comes alive with images of a fishing village, families from different socio-economic classes, and a love born out of chance.
When they finally meet, Nicoletta and Orazio know they are destined to be together. Framed by the letters they wrote to each other, Letters from Italy takes us on a passage back through time with a romantic young couple whose devotion to one another prompted a bold journey in a foreign land.
