2 WEEKS TO GO!
How crazy it feels to be saying that The Frontline Walk is just 2 weeks away. Actually, less than 2 weeks as I write this. Well, the training has been fun; it has been adventurous. Has it prepared me, time will tell. Do I feel prepared? Perhaps. There is still a worry that my ankle could become inflamed over the 3 days, but I am sure I will make it. I am determined to do so. I often feel stressed about things to where I am not thinking of the excitement. This feels different. It could be down to the preparation I have put in, and that I have passed my fundraising target thanks to the amazing people I know. It really has been incredible already and I am nowhere near France yet. Amazingly, I have also found out that my great grandfather served in the military. My father has 4 medals of his that I really hope I can pick up before our departure and wear them at the Menin gate. Along with my medal from Afghanistan that I have never ever worn. It will be a proud day if I can. So, heres to the next two weeks of training and preparation. I am also preparing interviews to be published the week I am away. All are to do with veterans in some way or the other. The first interview you can see is my conversation with the wonderful Terry Wenham. We were so involved in a conversation that we didn't actually record an introduction! My next post here will be after the walk. So, thank you for everyone's support, I will see you on the other side!
